I won’t make excuses or give reasons for my extended absence.
Let’s just say I’m back.
There have been a lot of changes in the past year and some, and I may actually have some interesting to say in the next months.
My father passed away in May. That was a surprise. I am glad I was there for his last 2 weeks on Planet Earth. We’re selling the house in Florida- the one Mum and Dad built in 1972, where I spent most of my childhood and some of my adulthood. They were set to move here this year, but now it’ll just be Mum. Which means my mother will be coming to live with us. This is a new stage of life for her, as well as me.
All the mice have gone- 14 little girlies in the past 4 1/2 years. That space has now been filled with rats. Yes. Pet rats. With my ailing eyesight, rats are easier to see. Kidding. We rescued a boy from a PetSmart a few months ago by accident (I swear we just went in for cat food), and picked up 2 little ladies from a pet rescue a couple of days ago to keep his poor lonely self company. Oscar is so happy to have friends, he can be a tad over-zealous. We should be ready for cohabitation in a week, though. The girls are Polly and Annie. Yes. I’m already building a bigger rat house.
Those are the biggest changes; the ones that matter most.
Still married to The Brit. We’re still in Nor-Cal, while Shooshie is still in So-Cal, going on her 2nd year at Blizzard. Decided not to get the house, which is a good thing considering it would not have been conducive to Mum living with us.
Me? I’m still talking to myself, though I was rather ignoring myself for a good while, which is prolly part of my disappearance from the wonderful world of blogging.
I still have my Etsy shop, and added a section for doll jewellery which I started shortly after finding my new hobby of “rescuing” dolls. If you’re interested in that sort of thing, or just curious, check out our group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/386965774817903/

So from sunny San Jose, California, USA: Hello again!
